I know it’s a stupid question, but I was just wondering. Is there a program you can get of even a low quality webcam? I don’t want to buy an actual webcam, so is there a program you can download or something to your computer so that you can do webcam things? Can a computer do webcam stuff without an actual cam if you have the right things?

Put it this way – if you don’t have a web cam you have no way of recording an image of any sort – capesh?
You can have as much web cam software as you want but if you don’t have a web cam to hook it up to it won’t be any use to you.
Kinda like if you don’t put petrol in your car when you have an empty tank you won’t be driving anywhere no matter how powerful your car is.

Not a stupid question you probably heard about this article:.
If you don’t have the webcam in your computer or as add on (peripheral) …. no the functionality is not possible
